Chest pain: Yes, it is most likely muscular and should take a couple of weeks to resolve.

Chest pain: If the pain is also brought on by a deep breath, is Sharp and fleeting it is consistent with a pinched intercostal nerve or muscle that runs between 2 ribs. If you can't be sure whether the discomfort is within the breast itself, have a careful breast examination. If it's a pinched nerve in the rib cage, avoid straining the rib cage, avoid very tight bras. A chest surgeon can also evaluate you.

Chest pain: May be costochondritis, inflammation juntion of cartilage that holds ribs to sternum( pain on pressing) or pleuradynia pain from the lining of the lung usually viral - may last 1-3 weeks. Motrin like products may help. Rarely could be mass or cardiac or clot or GERD. Should improve over time. Consider d- dimer for clot, and CT if d-dimer hi or to assess mass, troponin /echo for heart f/u/ w/doc
