A member asked:

I have been diagnosed with lupus and rmsf... is it possible it could be one of these and not the other?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info: Lupus and rocky mountain spotted fever (if that is what you mean by RMSF) are not mutually exclusive. However, a person with RMSF is much more acutely ill than one with uncomplicated lupus. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests.
