False positive: Poppy seeds can cause false positive for some opiates. It would depend on which opiate they are testing for. There are other things including medications that can cause this. Best advice be open and honest and ask your doctor to go thru with you other possible causes.

Not too many things: result in a false positive opiate (test is reported as positive but no offending drug present). Fluoroquinolones (broad spectrum antibiotics) that treat c. difficile and other gram negative and positive infections. Also Rifampin, an anti-tuberculosis medicine. Especially because you are on probation, request absolute confirmation. Make sure all your meds/supplements are disclosed.
