Normal: Hi This is called pectus carnitum and is very common. There are no long term health consequences to this other than cosmetic, and it is considered a variant of normal development. But occasionally it can be associated with other birth defects. Surgical repair can be done but each case is different, depending on the severity and the individual. Hope this helps.
