A member asked:

Why does my upper rib cage protrude out?

Normal: Hi This is called pectus carnitum and is very common. There are no long term health consequences to this other than cosmetic, and it is considered a variant of normal development. But occasionally it can be associated with other birth defects. Surgical repair can be done but each case is different, depending on the severity and the individual. Hope this helps. That's your built: If you are otherwise healthy, that's fine, but if you have any chronic symptoms you need to be seen by your doctor to rule out any spine or rib cage deformities, or lung problems affecting the rib cage, if not, enjoy your health,
