A member asked:

Low stomach pain, rumbling and movement inside stomach especially after eating and occasional passing of gas. what could be the cause?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Simplistically...: Movement of gut contents due to muscular activity of the GI tract is defined as "peristalsis." If your's is excessive, acutely increased, particularly noisy or bothersome so as to interfere with daily function then seek evaluation. Inhibition of peristalsis slows the above gut process and in some cases can quiet the rumbling.
