Blood Flow: You may have heard blood flowing through the arteries or veins. Since you say you were laying on the arm perhaps the vessel was occluded and you heard the blood come rushing back into it. We do this when we take a blood pressure. The cuff occludes the vessel we let down the pressure and listen for the 5 Korotkoff sounds.
