This could: be due to GAS collected in the SPLENIC flexure ( The TURN the colon takes in the left upper quadrant see diagram)...this often occurs in RUNNERS since any bowel gas "seeks" the highest level in the colon when you are upright) In runners it's often called a "stitch" Hope this helps Dr Z
