Fracture: The bottom line with fracture management is function and pain issues with some cosmetic concerns as well. If none of those are a problem then you should be fine. It is hard to say without knowledge of the actual fracture.

If non-displaced: 6-8 weeks ...but follow-up x ray(s) should be taken and if non union appears to be a problem surgical intervention is still a possibility! Hope this is helpful BTW you should be followed by an Orthopedic Specialist until healed! Dr Z

Be compliant: Certainly would want to follow doctors orders. Typically some form of immobilization is appropriate and over a 8-12 week period most radius fractures will be well healed. Discuss the specifics of your case with your doctor.
