Real: Auras are symptoms experienced by patients with seizures. They usually precede the onset of the seizure, and can be a clue to where the seizure specifically begins in the brain. Tastes, odors, stomach sensations, sensory, and visual phenomena can all occur as part of an aura. Auras are real and in and of themselves are partial seizures.
