Not the case.: For the most part, auras are a type of seizure. They represent a type of partial seizure; a seizure that comes from one area of the brain. People with primary generalized seizures usually don't have auras.

No.: Auras aren't characteristic of all seizure types and even with the types that are, not everyone has them.

I have epilepsy. I quit drinking alcohol. I couldn't sleep last night and kept having seizure auras, shakes, panic. I feel if I do not just drink, that I won't sleep and will have a grand mal seizure. Should I taper off instead of cold turkey?
