How is she doing otherwise? the whole clinical picture is important, the first step is to exclude other causes such as drugs, (eg steroids​), repeat the test. look carefully at other cell lines, good history and physical exam are important

Not leukemia: Please don't try to interpret lab values using pre printed "normals". Kids with AML leukemia often present with WBC's in the hundreds of thousands.Kids with infections have elevated levels.Please develop a relationship with the kids doc so you can be comfortable with their explanations of these findings.
