Go to hospital: A heart rate of 148 per minute is not normal at all. If that is your resting rate, you should be taking your referral letter and going to the hospital now for further evaluation and treatment. You are suffering from an arrhythmia and it needs sorting out asap. Please don't wait around for your symptoms to worsen.

A few suggestions: https://www.healthnavigator.org.nz/health-a-z/p/palpitations/ You should find this link useful. I am assuming that your own GP has performed an ECG so that you know what your rhythm is, if not then it is worth having this done whilst your heart is fast. Avoid nicotine, caffeine and stress. As there are different causes for a fast heart rate it is difficult to give further good advice sorry.

Hospital: If you are going that fast it needs to be sorted out. There is one thing you may try and that is called a vagal maneuver and that can be done by pushing like you are trying to have a bowel movement for a good 10-20 seconds. You will need to get an ECG to diagnose you problem
