CT contrast: is frequently used in the emergency setting. The relative contraindications are the same as in the non emergent setting, notably a history of prior allergic reaction to contrast, multiple allergies, and renal insufficiency, among others. Even so, if contrast is critical, pre-treatment regimens and even dialysis can be employed if necessary.
