I have what feels like a burn on my left hand, on the right side of my index finger. it's sensitive to hot and is also hot to the touch.

First Degree Burn: As you described this skin injury I would say you have a first degree burn. You can take an over the counter pain reliever by mouth to help with pain i.e. Tylenol. Burns are classified first to fourth degree. Do you remember cooking or being around a hot object? If not you may have another diagnosis. You can expect the burn to go away in 24 hours.
