Gastritis: This is not a characteristic of gastritis because of the location of the pain.I would be concerned about esophageal dysfunction, inflammation, spasm, or other esophageal pathology causing this complaint. This is an important symptom and I recommend an evaluation by a gastroenterologist for diagnosis and treatment advice.
