Must look for it: A routine urine culture will never pick up the common STD's.These germs are identified by finding their genetic markers on special tests which must be ordered. Hematuria: Blood in the urine is rarely due to STI. It could happen, but the main symptom of STI involving the urinary tract is urethriits, with abnormal discharge and often discomfort on urination, but no blood.
