Yes: The oral contraceptive pill actually serves two functions, stopping the bleeding and decreasing ovarian cyst formation. However, if the pill is not your "cup of tea", then progesterone can be used on a short term basis to arrest the bleeding. Keep in mind, that if progesterone is given. there will be withdrawal bleeding when it is stopped.
