Hi my 4y son has bun 12, creatinine 0.26 which is normal however his bun/creatinine ratio is 46. why would it be elevated?

Has no importance: The value of this ratio does not become important when the creatinine level is so low (but normal) in early childhood. It is only when the body mass has matured and the creatinine level rises that it can have any significance. Please do not freak over pre-printed lab reports generated by a computer. It is truly not an issue.
