A member asked:

I am experiencing low back pain. the pain kind of shoots occasionally from both the sides of my back just above my bum. and it's not really sharp

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Beware of red flags: Most back pain is benign, generating from soft tissue like ligments, fascia, discs, joints etc. Typical treatments like exercise, PT, chiro are all appropriate. "Red Flags" that indicate something more sinister may be going on include progressive, unrelenting back pain especially if it also occurs at night, is assoc w/ fevers, unexplained weight loss, or if you develop anything neurological.
