Dryness?: Are you a mouth breather? If yes, your sore throat may be due drying of the mucous membrane. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex. Get HPV vaccine.

You may have gastric: Fluid from your stomach refluxing up your throat, or inflammation that needs to be checked by your PCP Dr. For other causes or reasons. This is not normal. Make sure you don't eat right before going to bed. Stay away from acidic foods like tomatoes, spicey, cheesy foods that sits in your gut overnight. Sleep with two pillows until it's resolved. Don't eat after 7PM. Hydrate well with water.
