Bursitis?: The prepatellar bursa sits on front of the knee and can get inflamed and feel very tight. That's one possibility. This bursa can also get infected. Seek medical attention if not improving with rest, anti-inflammatories, ice. If you have redness, increased warmth or fever/chills, then seek attention urgently.
