A member asked:

After 4 years would it be worth it to run blood tests again that led to fibromyalgia diagnosis? could something may have been undetectable then?

Yes: If the diagnosis of fibromyalgia is in doubt (i.e., not typical) and/or you have new symptoms / signs of rheumatologic disease, go ahead and repeat the anti-nuclear antibody, rheumatoid factor, and anti-cyclic citrullinated protein.

Besides blood tests: As has been discussed here at HT, fibromyalgia may turn out to be a general descriptive label, with the correct underlying diagnosis becoming apparent after several years. Would urge neurological consultation regarding small fiber neuropathy or CRPS for starters. The odds of this may be 50/ 50 at best, but worthwhile pursuing. Would also do recommended blood tests.
