A member asked:

I have a cyst close to the gallbladder fossa. i have had a cholecystectomy and have reacurring pain. could this be remanent gallbladder left over?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cyst: I believe that your surgeon and the radiologist should review your images and come up with a plan to further identify the exact nature of the mass and determine what other studies or procedures would be most helpful in pinpointing the diagnosis(ct scan, mri). I would be concerned about an abscess, for example. Would a needle biopsy be advisable? Is an exploratory operation indicated?
