Need more info: Where is the bruise/bug bite located? How long has it been there? Need more information.

Needs to be checked: It can be anything based on your description.It may be a bug bite with localized reaction or as you say bruise.But we can not tell you what it may be without a more detailed history and physical exam with naked eye.So since it is hurting and of concern to you.I advise you get it checked by your doctor.
