Go to the dentist: You should go to the dentist first. Antibiotics may not help or may mask your problem. Taking them in advance could at times make your diagnosis more difficult. The best advice is go to the dentist now

Tooth pain: Infection is the most common cause of tooth pain but not the only cause. Instead of trying to manage treatment without knowing what's wrong, please see your Dentist for an examination and differential diagnosis. Once your Dentist knows what's causing your pain he/she can recommend the appropriate treatment.

Antibiotics: Antibiotics are prescribed to treat an infection and not for diagnostic purposes. Your own dentist or perhaps an Endodontist would be the best one to advise you what to do and whether or not your need Root Canal Therapy. This is based upon past dental history, personal clinical exam and tests and review of x-rays. Something that cannot be done over the internet.
