Just got rx'd lexapro but havn't started yet. just read it can cause constipation & i'm worried cuz i had a fissure a few wks ago. it's only 5mg.

Lexapro side effects: A listed side effect is indeed constipation but occurs in less than 1% of adult patients taking the medication. I would simply increase your fluid intake and perhaps add a fiber supplement just to be safe. I really doubt at that dose you will have any issues though. Good luck
