A member asked:

Is it normal for a 2 month old baby to have cerumen in the ear canal? no cotton swabs have been used

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cerumen in ear: Not unusual for a baby to have ear cerumen. Cerumen is a part of protection for the ear canal. Important to not use q-tips or other object to remove the cerumen. Only clean the outer part of the ear with a soft cloth. The baby's pediatrician can check the ears at the next well check.
