4 year old recovering from cold can hear clearly if whispered in ear or when i speak in normal tone but not when i whisper sit infront of him,no fever?

Ear/Hearing check: Child might have fluid in the middle ear. Have his ears checked to determine this. If response to sound continues to be unusual, have his physician check his hearing as well.
