Periods post tubal: It is not uncommon for period frequency to increase post tubal ligation. It is postulated that a blood vessel between the Fallopian tube/ovary and the uterus when interrupted alters period frequency, and sometimes duration. If the pre tubal cycle frequency was 28-30 days, tubals' can shorten it to 21 to 25 days, thus the two periods in one month.
