Bezoar: I don't know why but if this happens frequently, have your pediatrician check out for bezoar.

Pica, consumption of: Non-nutritive substances, can occur in neurotypical toddlers at 18-24 mos. & in toddlers & older kids with developmental delays, autism, mental illness. Iron deficiency, or disturbed parent-child interaction/family function. Intestinal blockage, parasitosis & lead poisoning are possible complications. Use child-proof locks on all cabinets with household products & see your pediatrician.
