Doctor can check: If one's doctor is the family doctor and sees everyone in the family, that doctor might treat a parent without seeing the parent, if the parent and the kids have the same symptoms at the same time. Otherwise, the parent can see her doctor for an exam and perhaps get a rapid test for strep throat, which takes 5 minutes to get a result. The antibiotic used may vary depending on one's drug allergies.
