Probably: Metanx does, in fact, contain B12 vitamin supplement. It also contains the active form of folic acid, known as methyl folate. Gastric bypass patients usually do not absorb vitamins from their food as well and many physicians will use supplements to make sure patients get the nutrients they need to promote health and well being.
