I have been diagnosed with a 8 cm cyst on my ovary but my pain is on my side, below my ribs and spreads towards my back. can that really be from cyst?

Unlikely a cyst. : It's possible. But that's not a common way for a cyst to present or feel. The kind of discomfort you are describing could be intestinal or kidney related.
