Shared straw worried: 23 M: Shared a drink using the same straw for few sips with a girl on first date. any tests needed? any risk of sickness? Not sure about her health status. ANS: very unlikely to get something from this or most of us would be ill.

Not just from drink: Spread of infection requires some form of contact & transfer of germs.Saliva is a common source.Adults touch their face frequently during their waking hours & load their fingers with saliva, so any touch can pass germs.Any kiss, or inhaling airborne germs cast off by a cough can pass illness. In most healthy people transfer risk is minimal, but when a disease is very contagious it can pass easily.
