Depends on symptoms: The flu treatment you should take depends on your symptoms. For example, if you have nasal or sinus congestion, then a decongestant can be helpful. Decongestants come in oral or nasal spray forms. If you have a runny nose, postnasal drip, or itchy, watery eyes -- then an antihistamine may be helpful for your flu symptoms. Tincture of time: While some antivirals may shorten the course slightly they are not generally recommended. The mainstay of treatment is symptomatic management like paracetamol and ibuprofen for headache, fever, and muscle aches. Stay hydrated and vitamin C, chicken soup sort of things. Decongestants , antihistamine,s and ant-cough medicines may help. Time will heal you.

Many good options: Many treatments that can help with flu. Obviously rest and plenty of fluids. Do NOT reduce fever if you can tough it out, as fever helps fight infection. The right homeopathic remedy can help a lot. Sambucol, an elderberry extract, is proven to help. High doses of Vit C can help, as can NAC and herbs like andrographis and astragalus. See http://tinyurl.com/zeccbso for details on these and more.

Flu treatment: Traditionally treatment of flu is by rest and alleviating symptoms. Specific treatment is reserved for more severe cases requiring hospital admission, evidence of low respiratory tract infection, high risk of complications or pregnant women. Ideally specific treatment is best given within the first 48 hours after onset of symptoms

‘Flu’: The term flu means different things to different people. If you are meaning the ‘cold’, then fluids, rest, regular paradol and tincture of time is the usual treatment. However, the common could may turn nasty (cough green sputum and pneumonia). Real Influenza virus can cause symptoms as above plus you get body aches, chills, rigors. Worse case scenario is pneumonia and multi organ failure
