Possibly: We used to blame this on "White Coat Syndrome" since many people get anxious at the Dr's office. Additionally, pts are commonly unwell or in pain when they come to see a doctor & all of this may temporarily increase BP. However, if your BP goes up at the dr's, it's likely that your BP goes up in many stressful situations, so a high BP at any time needs further eval & possibly treatment
