It can: A steak, which is basically a piece of muscle, contains very small amount of simple sugars stored and lots of protein that is a structure of many amino acids united together. Those amino acids can be good source for your body to make sugar from. It's a slower process than just eating sugar directly. So depending on how much you eat of protein, your blood sugar can be.
