Warm compresses: A bumpy rash that precedes acne (pimples) can sometimes get better with warm compresses applied for 5 minutes every 6 hours. Other options include topical antibiotic along with benzoyl peroxide (EG, Benzaclin or Benzamycin).

Bumps: Occasionally pustules turn into firm lumps called papules. Over time these may very slowly shrink but at times they persist without changing size. I would give this months to see if they reduce in size. If not and you would like to do something about removing them, consult a plastic or cosmetic surgeon for evaluation and advice.
