Anal discomfort: Possibilities include an anal fissure, perianal dermatitis, and hemorrhoids. A perianal abscess is less likely. I recommend that you consult a proctologist or colorectal surgeon for diagnosis, advice and treatment. In the meantime try warm applications and apply an ointment like anusol or cortisporin.

Burning: Burning sensation around the anal canal can be from a multitude of issues. One of the most common is an anal fissure or crack in the anal skin and is usually benign. If you are concerned I would recommend your doctor do a thorough rectal exam to make the diagnosis.
