Heart beat ?: The most important thing to find out was if there was a fetus with a heartbeat visualized on the sonogram located inside of the uterus. If so then this is good news. The size of the gestational sac is not likely to be a contributory data point if the rest is true. You can ask your doctor to explain what was meant by a small gestational sac
