Different chemical: They are quite similar in action but made up of different chemicals. Not usually recommended for use on the face however. Consider seeing an allergist or dermatologist to find out why you have had this problem for so long. Chronic use of moderately potent steroid may thin the skin and if possible it is always better to find out what causes the problem in the first place.
