Sounds Mechanical: You have muscles (pectoralis major and minor) that stretch from your chest to your armpit, and your increased exercise may cause pain from this stretch or soreness. Nerve pinching may also occur with movements of your shoulder. Make sure you don't have any enlarged lumps (lymph nodes) in your armpit and wait a few days for the pain to subside.
