Depends: If he's difficult to rouse or breathing difficulties or not wetting nappies or not taking fluids should have urgent medical assessment. If doing all these things ok then can wait with paracetamol but needs urgent attention if worsening. If any doubt safest to go to an urgent clinic or emergency

You decide: If he has taken in enough fluids to continue peeing every 6-8 hrs & cooperates with fluid intake, you may be able to watch him for a while. If your "mommy" sense is giving you fits, you need to take him in or neither of you will get any rest until you know what's going on.

How high is temp?: This is a rather detailed question best left to your GP's discretion, as he/she will know your son the best. How high is the temperature (OFF paracetamol)? Any other symptoms? These make a big difference. 36-38 deg C is normal. If 35-36 or 38-40 deg C, it depends on your comfort level: are you OK with your son being at home? If >40 deg C (or <35 deg C) take to A&E. Paracetamol wears off in 8 hrs.
