Rest & time: Unfortunately, there is no specific treatment for rib injuries. Any type of strapping or taping leads to complications such as pneumonia without aiding in recovery. Time, over the counter medications such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, and gradually increasing activity as your discomfort allows is the treatment.
