Prevention only: Unclear question -- not sure I understand. But almost all standard vaccines prevent infection but have no effect in people already infected. They do not delay or interfere with cure with standard treatments, and do not delay research on cures. Do not hesitate to receive recommended vaccines -- at your age, especially HPV and hepatitis B vaccines if not already done, and annual flu shot.

Not at all......: Often we develop vaccines because CHANCES FOR A CURE ARE DECADES AWAY IF EVER for some illnesses after you get them. The type of germ and speed with which it attacks the body means it is best never to get the disease. Vaccines have saved more lives and quality of life than any MRI or other device. There are still researchers working on cures every day, but it can take hundreds or years to do it.
