Depends: The elimination half-life of a single dose is 6-7 hours so there would be no effect after about 24-30 hours. For someone taking it chronically, it could hang around for days.

Hello, Thank you in advance. I am on a very low dose of atenolol, not even 12.5 mg a day. It affects my central nervous system, makes me weak, achy and tingling. Mostly controls HR, but Dr. wants to switch me to Propranolol. Is this better tolerated?
I take 25mg of atenolol and I have also tried the same dosage of tenormin. I know they are both the same but why does atenolol seem last longer for me?
