Likely tension headache: Most of the time when you have a throbbing area near the temple it's likely due to a migraine or tension headache. However, if the temple is very tender to the touch then we will be worried about something called giant cell arteritis. Are you having any numbness in the jaw or face? Are you having any issues with your vision? If you don't have the symptoms above then I would just recommend watching this and hopefully it will result soon.
