No cure: Asthma is a chronic medical condition influenced by genetics.It includes changes in at the cellular level in the lung tissue in the open/close messengers guarding the air spaces in the lung.It can be managed using meds that help diminish the effect of triggering events.Most can lead a long, productive life with good control.There is no cure.

Yes, if lucky: Many people get asthma symptoms. There were essentially no asthma medications until 100 years ago. Without medication, some people with asthma got better and did not get many recurrences. Some people continued to have symptoms off and on, while others had symptoms all the time. The unlucky ones developed bad symptoms and died. Here in the 21st century, many medicines are available and easy to use.
