Yes, if lucky: Many people get asthma symptoms. There were essentially no asthma medications until 100 years ago. Without medication, some people with asthma got better and did not get many recurrences. Some people continued to have symptoms off and on, while others had symptoms all the time. The unlucky ones developed bad symptoms and died. Here in the 21st century, many medicines are available and easy to use.
