My "refresh plus" lubricant eye drops expired back in 2008. they are preservative-free and the containers are sealed/unopened. is it safe to use them?

If sealed it is OK: There is nothing in Refresh plus that would decay unless stored in excessive heat. As long as the bottle/ container is undisturbed and the solution within them appears clear, you can use them.
