Hemorrhoids: Your symptoms are likely due to hemorrhoids, which are dilated anorectal vessels. Treat the pain with over the counter analgesics, cold packs to the area, and maybe hot sitz bath. The mainstay of therapy is to AVOID CONSTIPATION by: -high dietary fiber of about 30g day -increase volume of fluids, (non-caffeinated fluids) -over the counter stool softener (Colace) Please follow-up with your PCP.
